The Dockside Boardwalk has been closed for over a year now. We've been told that private leaseholder committed to repairing and reopening the boardwalk back in December 2023, but we still haven't seen any evidence that these repairs have actually started.
We've tried everything we can through the "official channels", working with the Minister's office to try and get action. Residents have sent hundreds of letters to the Department of Resources and the Minister for Resources. But still no action. So it's time for our community to mobilise, take to the streets and ramp up the pressure on the Labor state government and private leaseholder.
We'll meet the Dockside Ferry Terminal for short speeches then we'll march around the streets back around to the northern end of the Dockside Boardwalk. Bring your own signs and placards to help us tell the state government and the private leaseholder: residents have waited far too long, fix our boardwalk!
This will be a peaceful protest. All our welcome.
