Fund our ferries

What’s happening?

Brisbane City Council announced a review of the entire ferry network, something which only occurs every couple of years.

Signs near ferry terminals announcing the review made it seem like the community consultation period would run from mid-July through to September – and I thought it was great to finally see them set up a feasible consultation period! – but unfortunately the survey was closed after only 2 weeks and will remain closed until the “second round” of consultation begins.

Since the Council’s survey has closed, I have opened my own to ensure everyone has a chance to have a say – I encourage you all to fill it out.

I will be taking this information from the community along to the consultation session at 10:30am on 11 September at Kurilpa Hall and calling for a commitment from the Council to fund our ferries (Council's community consultation includes their survey and also in person meetings with Council transport planners). I hope as many local residents as possible will join me.

There are a couple of key requests that Councillor Jonathan Sri and I have heard from locals about improvements that are included in the survey already, but we would love to hear all your opinions to better advocate for the whole community.

Here's the two consultations that are happening in the South Brisbane Electorate. You can find the full schedule here.

Tuesday, 7 September 4.00pm-5.30pm Mowbray Park, East Brisbane
Saturday, 11 September 10:30am - noon Kurilpa Hall, Boundary Street, West End
