How we solve the housing crisis: North-west Community Forum

Right now Queenslanders are struggling to find secure housing. The social housing waitlist continues to grow while renting becomes increasingly unaffordable in Brisbane's north-western suburbs.

In northwest Brisbane alone – there are over 1,200 people who are stuck on the social housing waiting list and hundreds of people are experiencing homelessness.

The state and the federal government have been passing the buck for years without substantial action to address the housing crisis. Now people are at breaking point.

We will be joined by guest speaker Lynette from the Housing Older Women movement to speak on the particular impacts of the housing crisis on retired and elderly women in our community.

Come along for a discussion with your neighbours about the causes of this crisis and how we can work as a community to do something about it.

Please RSVP so we can manage numbers.

The venue is across the road from the Mitchelton train station and is wheelchair accessible.
