We're holding a pop-up office in Woolloongabba for anyone who has questions about the Woolloongabba Priority Development Area, or tips on making a submissions.
The Woolloongabba Priority Development Area (PDA) is a huge 106 hectare area across Woolloongabba, East Brisbane and Kangaroo Point. The area centres around the Gabba Stadium, and the new Cross River Rail station. The Cross River Rail Station block is around 5 hectares, and is publicly owned.
Priority Development Areas override local planning rules, and going forward, the state government will be the main decision-maker for any developments proposed for this area. The plan includes significant upzoning across the neighbourhood, some additional open space, and plans for a library/community centre. You can read my overview of the PDA here.
Submissions on the PDA Development Scheme are open until 14 June. The government are also running a handful of in-person sessions. After this, there will only be limited community consultation on the ongoing plans for the area.
Come down to Logan Rd, just across the road from the Gabba, on Tuesday 4 June, to find out more about the PDA, how to make a submission, and any questions you might have.
