Did you know Pineapple Park (also known as Raymond Park) has been proposed as the home of the athletics warm-up track for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics?

I’ve heard from a few locals concerned that the park isn’t quite big enough for a 400m track. Some residents are questioning whether the government will have to resume nearby homes.

There’s also concerns about the loss of public access to this popular piece of green space for the months around the Olympics.

This could have a pretty significant impact on nearby residents – given the limited public green space available in the area, and the regular use of the Park by local schools and community sport organisations.

So join me and Councillor Jonathan Sri for a chat about what’s happening and what we can do together to secure better outcomes for our local community.

It will be a family friendly event, with a qualified teacher running park games if you would like to bring your kids. Please make sure you RSVP so we can cater correctly and ensure we are COVID Safe.
