Queensland is in a massive housing crisis. Rents are skyrocketing and it's getting near impossible to buy your first home. If you do manage to find a rental that you can afford (just barely), you're then stuck worrying each year whether your lease will be renewed or whether you'll have to fork out thousands to move house again.

Worse still, more and more Queenslanders are sleeping in parks and cars right now because of how unaffordable rents are and how little public housing the government is building.

Right now, it seems Labor and the LNP would rather let renters fall into homelessness than take a stand against property investors and big banks who benefit from high rents.
