In March, the Labor Premier Steven Miles publicly committed to offering crisis accommodation to every homeless person in that. But six months later, there are still people sleeping rough all across Brisbane in tents and cars who haven't been offered any accommodation.
We're now seeing first-hand what decades of government inaction on housing looks like. Right now, there is less social housing per Queenslander than when Labor came to power in 2015, and rents have never been more unaffordable. Housing support services do amazing work, but their job is incredibly hard when there just isn’t enough housing that is affordable and suitable.
Help put pressure on the Labor state by emailing the Premier and the Minister for Housing to stick to their promises and put a roof over Queenslander's heads.
