Three years after our campaign kicked off to scrap this wasteful project, we’re closer than ever before to getting the $2.7 billion Gabba demolition stopped and to saving the East Brisbane State School and Raymond Park.
The state government has finally conceded that the Gabba demolition is a bad idea and has paused the project while they conduct a review. The review is due back on 18 March 2024, and then it’s expected that the new Premier Steven Miles will make his decision on whether he’ll scrap the project or not.
We’re closer than ever before to stopping what was once a “done deal”. But we can’t stop now. Ramping up the pressure over the next few weeks while the state government is making their decision is crucial to getting this ridiculous project scrapped for good.
Join Max Chandler-Mather, Greens MP for Griffith, Amy MacMahon, Greens MP for South Brisbane, Cr. Trina Massey, Greens Councillor for the Gabba and Kath Angus, Greens candidate for Coorparoo for a massive community meeting about how we can get this community-wrecking project scrapped for good.
