West Village needs a pedestrian crossing

There have been multiple near misses as pedestrians are forced to walk across the high-traffic, four-lane driveway at West Village. Apartment residents, West Village patrons and heavy vehicles all use this driveway. Pedestrians have to dodge traffic coming from three directions.

We are urgently calling for the installation of a pedestrian crossing over the West Village driveway at 21 Mollison Street.

There is more development underway at the West Village site. An additional 110 additional apartment residents will use this driveway. We’re calling on West Village and Brisbane City Council to act before someone gets hurt.

The next steps involve Sekisui House Australia (owners of West Village) submitting a development application for operational works (Op-Works) to undertake upgrades to this driveway.

The current West Village driveway is a serious safety concern for pedestrians.

Safe crossings for pedestrians are essential to keep our suburbs walkable as our community grows. To help us secure a safer crossing for our community, sign the petition and share it with your neighbours.
