Public education should be free - but public funding for Queensland’s state schools is among the lowest in the country.
On top of this, schools are charging families more and more for uniforms, resources, laptops, excursions, and even for kids to enrol in particular subjects. Given the broader cost of living crisis - with the cost of groceries and housing only going up - this is a huge burden for families who are already doing it tough.
We're kicking off our campaign to fully fund Queensland state schools and ensure all Queensland kids get the education they deserve.
Join Senator Penny Allman-Payne, State MP Amy MacMahon, and comedian and public schooling advocate Tom Ballard for an online forum on why our state schools are underfunded - and what we can do together to fix this.
