Get Involved in Building KWEBA: Kangaroo Point, Woolloongabba East Brisbane Community Association

KWEBA is a team of community members supported by my office working on starting a community association for 4102 & 4169 postcodes.

These neighbourhoods will be ground zero for the 2032 Olympics, threatening the local primary school and Raymond Park. The community has not been consulted on any of this. But we can protect our neighbourhood by coming together to build a strong and connected community.

I’ve seen the value of having community-led associations like the West End Community Association. They hold the government to account and are a strong voice for the local community.

If you’re interested, I would like to invite you to be part of seeding an independent community working group for Kangaroo Point, Woolloongabba and East Brisbane.

We’re envisioning the working group to be a space where community members can:

  • Identify key issues for Kangaroo Point, East Brisbane & Woolloongabba
  • Advocate for the community and coordinate direct support for people in need
  • Run projects or events that foster community connection and resilience

You don’t need to have experience running a group like this; just be interested in committing some time to build an inclusive group and working with other folks who live in Woolloongabba and East Brisbane to foster strong ties across our community. The group is still growing and needs more people who live or work in or around Kangaroo Point, Woolloongabba & East Brisbane to get involved!
