Renowned local artist Lyn Graham has donated three gorgeous artworks from her Disappearing Skylines series to the annual South Brisbane Greens art raffle. Each is valued at up to $2000.
These pieces show landscapes and neighbourhoods changing with the impacts of a changing climate and development. Lyn writes, “These three paintings are part of a series called Disappearing Skylines. One day, when I was on Teewah Beach looking up at the coastal dunes, I realised they reminded me of the rusting roofs in West End. The beautiful corrugated iron roofs are disappearing, making way for high-rise towers, just as the coastal dunes are eroding, the deserts are changing, the forests are vanishing and the oceans are rising. I have tried to capture the beauty of the skylines we love. They are disappearing as the climate changes and development ramps up”.
The paintings are oil on linen. Each measures 90 x 60cms (perfect for your living room!). They are stretched and ready to hang or they can be framed by their new owners.

All funds will go towards the Greens campaign to win South Brisbane. Winners will be drawn in the week following the election, on Thursday, 5 November. Entries will be randomised by a computer program with an observer.

This raffle is conducted in accordance with Category 2 requirements of the Charitable and Non-Profit Gaming Act 1999. Ticket sales close at 6.00pm on 29 October 2020. Winners will be drawn in the week following the election, at 6.00pm Thursday, 5 November. Entries will be randomised by a computer program with an observer. Winners will be notified by phone and published in the Queensland Greens member newsletter on 13 November 2020. Delivery or the artworks will be arranged with the winners at this time. Prohibited donors are not allowed to financially support a political party in Queensland, including purchase of raffle tickets. Prohibited donors are property developers, their related bodies corporate and close associates (including directors and spouses of directors) and property development industry representative organisations. Members of Management Comittee, the Candidate and relatives of the Candidate are not permitted to participate.
